Thought this would be a perfect day to fish from 9am on....very nice SHU :highfive
Back to basics..... A trip to remember and talk about for years to come. Two poles each...some minners and bobbers. We hit the road headed to Lake Jessup around 6:30 and the truck thermometer said 27*.... really don't know how accurate it was, but without a doubt felt that cold and then some. Next stop the donut shop for Shu some squares then we headed for Jessup. We thought it was cold on land and then we discovered what cold really was when we motored across the lake to our fishing spot.
Caught a few before it warmed up and then we started shedding layers. Fishing was so so. Before we knew it we had 10 in the box. Now.....this is the reason if any of you get a chance to fish with shu...don't pass it up. My pole went down with a nice 12" speck and after getting him in, shu said "did you see all those minners" and of course I said "no". Shu then said "maybe we should go back through there again"....so we did. Wow!! wow!! Bam! we were into them.....8 in about 4 minutes!! Out went the anchor and that's where we finished the day.
Shu knows fishing...I never saw the bait. They were swimming at the surface where patches of sunlight were coming through the trees. When a bunch moved through we lowered the hooks right in the middle of them and wa-lah a a fish!
Had a great time with shu plus we saw phantom and chucker on the lake today also.

cold you were going through this am. But nothing beats that "thumb" when that
