Thread: Another Newnans report

Took the wife out to Newnans Lake this afternoon for a little crappie action. Nice overcast day with strong NE/E wind kept it a little cooler than it has been.

Fished 2:30-5pm, boated 51 but only around 10 big enough to keep. Trolled in 8-5 feet of water with 1/16 ounce jigs with artificials. Strong wind kept us moving between 1-1.5mph all afternoon. Didn't mind moving that fast being that the fish were biting and we covered a lot of 5 feet of water. I've got a 30" driftsock on the way so I guess I'll be experimenting with it when it comes in.

Going back in the morning...maybe the big girls will be ready to bite because they sure weren't hungry today.
