I tried to stay home. I really did. I just couldn't do it. So I hooked up and headed back where I fished last week. By myself today I got to the fish grounds about 7:30, late for me, and got some rods out. At one point I was being experimental and had 2 jigs, 2 Roadrunners, 2 beetle spins and 2 crankbaits. It went like this; Cranks never got touched, the pink/chartreuse curl tail I had such high hopes for also never got touched. The roadrunners produced steady all day, as did the beetles. Best bet for today was the electric chicken in any form. My first fish for the live well was a 13" that would be today's best. Total, including a few stripe, was 25 and the box had 8 over 11". Things got slow after 10 and the wind increased and control started becoming an issue so I headed home. At the house just after noon I still had time left to work on clearing the lot next door. Yay. A good day with very few boats to share the water with. The ride back downwind was interesting and couldn't be done very fast but no issues, just had to pay attention. Gotta try the river one day soon, just don't like going somewhere new.
