    Default Report: Clermont 11/29

Wind, Wind and more wind and some bass. Did a short trip for a couple hours yesterday in the chain. All the normal haunts were a bit blown out, so I tried some new areas. Caught a couple small ones long lining in 10-13 fow, probably around 15 fish total, had a couple in the well, but decided to do some C&R (catch and release). Favorite colors were pink and chartruse. My son had the days biggest fish of the day, decent bass on the longline. On a side note I did lose a real nice bass, I look over and the "outrigger" longline is heavily loaded up, I pick it up and its nearly dead weight, at this point i'm calling to my son for the net as I'm thinking I've got a world record. It was fighting like a large slab. I worked it very slowly and when its about 5' away from the boat, a nice largemouth bass (5-6 lbs) jumps and spits out a 4" crappie , I don't think the bass was ever hooked, he just had the crappie in his mouth. The one that gets away is always the biggest.... still a great day out on the water.Name: willbass.JPG

I'm so fortunate my boy loves to go fishing. He loves the boat. Indeed that is a 17.5 Key Largo with a 75 E-tec. That boat has caught grouper, sailfish, cobia, kingfish and of course crappie. Its not the best setup for crappie but works well for a bunch of intermediate saltwater applications.

Absolutely a great utility boat for Florida. Them boats love to get down and dirty and catch fish.

Good stuff! I love how the fish is as long as your sons leg. WTG DAD!!!

The Clermont chain is a relaxing place to be for sure.
