    Maybe 15 or 20' out on each side. I would say the only time i have trouble is when it is windy.

    One more question, can you make turns or only use in a straight line and can you run them off the front of the boat while longlining off the back? Thanks

    Yes you can make wide turns,i use 4 rods on front and my wife or dad uses 2 rods off the back. They could use more if they would.

    A lot of times i run 2 more with heavy weights off the front also,without boards.
