Hi everyone. After a few months my wife and I found us a home in Dunnellon. Should be closing escrow by the end of Sept. Then its back to TN to pick up our house stuff and my little aluminum boat. It might take a couple trips but the weather should be perfect except I should be on the water. What can you do?![]()
Can wait to get settled and on the water. So much of it here and I can see from the road way lots of cover and paddies on the water too. Now I need to learn where the bait shops and good ramps are that are safe to leave the truck and trailer at. Seems the lakes here are fairly shallow with lots of potential prop knockers so I might need to learn a few things but that's half the fun.![]()

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Welcome! And you picked one of the prettiest areas in Florida in my opinion and great location as well. Short travel to some great saltwater fishing, and great freshwater in your backyard and then there is the scenery at the Rainbow River, Great choice!
Welcome aboard to great state of Florida.
Freshwater fishing at its best................Salt Water abounds evevywhere
only state where you can have best of both worlds at your finger tips.
Read a lot of past post -along with Florida Crappie Club forum on this site
and you will general idea of whats going on and where at - Mapquest will
put you on various sites to get you pointed in right direction.
Go on Florida FWC web site and you will find boats ramps and background
of whats happening at various lakes.
All Thanks for the welcome. We are excited about starting to know the area and getting on with the business of making it home. I only hope my knees hold up enough to let me have many years to enjoy what the area has to offer.
Huntinslabs yeah the Rainbow is something else and the community I am buying in has its own beach access so I will be taking advantage of that. It doesnt have a boat ramp but I can get my Kayak in and fish off it.
My realtor just arrived so got papers to go over.
Thanks again for the welcome and info. Tight lines all
You must be buying in the community that the park shuttle tram goes in front of that is between the put in and take out, correct?
Welcome!! Give yourself time to learn the area and where to do what you like to do best. World of water around you, but you don't have to fish it all today. Watch the stumps in Lk Roseau. Lots of bass in there, and specks. Withlacoochee Backwaters.
