    Default Humminbird Helix 5 Question

Has anyone tried the new Helix 5 unit? I am looking to buy 2 new units for my boat and all I want is sonar and GPS. I have had SI and DI for several years and I never used them. The price on the Helix 5 looks good but just trying to get some feedback on them.

    Thx!!

Thx "G"...Seems like I read somewhere that you can't link 2 Helix 5 units together. What do you know about that? I am gonna call HB when they open. Just shopping around right now seeing what my options are.

I love my Helix! I picked up the SI / DI / GPS combo and have been playing around with it for a few weeks now. It is correct you can't network the unit to other HB units. It's a bit smaller requiring me to wear my glasses from time to time, but it more than makes up for it with the great resolution it provides. Great unit with a budget price. Gotta check it out Tim.

What size SD card does it take? Some of these newer models only take the Mini SD card.

I think I would really like the Helix, but I had to pass on it. They can't be networked with other units which I'd like to have but the deal breaker was that it only took the Micro SD Card. I already have 2 regular SD cards to use and didn't want to spend almost $300 to buy the Micro SD cards....So I went with the Humminbird 859 DI for the front of the boat and the smaller 688 DI for the console. I can network these 2 units and still use my SD cards that I already have. Thx for all the input.

Tim, you can't Ethernet between the 859 and 688 either. You may be able to use the interlink?
