Thread: SurfSide Florida Vacation......where can I fish for Gills/Crappies during my vacation

An everglades back country trip would be a blast. Snook,tarpon, redfish, trout, bream, peacock bass, cichlids, oscars you name it they are in there. But surf fishing in Miami area is non existsnt. Too many hotel, city and homeowner association by laws preventing it.

Another option for you that wouldn't require travel would be the canals in Miami area, the Oscar's down there are like a Bull-Gil's on steroids.

A very good option, but be very careful where you venture to in Miami. You can get into areas that you should not be and Cuban Neckties are not very becoming on a person. Another option is to take some heavy catfish rigs and go to Governors cut or Haulover Canal with some cut bait and see what comes of it. Catch a small fish and send em back out, ya never know down there what might venture through. And if your bringing kids make sure they have blindfolds for the Foreign men with bodies like Larry the Cable guy wearing banana hammocks. Can be very detrimental to their eyesight and mental well being. Some very good looking senoritas walking around the beaches as well. Ocean down there is very clear with visibility to 25'+. You should have a nice trip.

Well I am early enough to make plans so if you have any contacts I am game. Oscars in the canals sound cool!! I could bring a box of my hand ties and go to wally world for 50 to 75 bucks and be in the game. Appreciate all the feedback and hope someone may give me some leads on details or who!

Florida Everglades Bass Fishing Guide Captain Shane Procell I would contact this guy and tell him what you want to do. He is very active on several of the other forums popular down here. Seems like a good guy and provides good trips.
