I know some luck is involved in just about everything, but there is some skill involved also. Like I said in my last post the fishing has slowed a bit but we were still catching some real nice fish. I don't need to catch a 100 fish everyday, I'm happy with 15 to 20 and a few over the 2lb. range and if I don't catch any that's OK too. Just great being on the water with my wife or some friends. I caught 81 over 2 lbs in Dec. Jan. and will be back late Feb. and hope to catch some more. By the way all 81 fish over 2lbs were all put back to bite again, I practice catch and release and only keep a few to eat. Caught over 1100 in that time frame and only cooked around 25/30. I know the numbers are down from other years I been here but a lot of fish have been taken out of the lake and there are more and more boats each year. I hear stories of guys taken more than one limit in a day and that sure don't help. I think if things keep going the way they are in 3 to 4 years Crescent lake will just be a good memory. Yes the winds are our enemy and we cant do anything about that.
