    Default December Lake Monroe Slabtogether

Perfect weather for a great day of fishing. Not sure how many boats we had but I do know the Lake was on fire..... fsugreg and I caught 48...specktacklure and coffeecup caught 89...and several 2+lb fish came to the weigh-in. Flycaster will probably be posting some results soon. It was great to see everybody and good to see our ole' buddy "speckdetector" made it out. Here's a few photos:

WOW, one of the best day fishing Lake Monroe I can remember in some time! Today I had the privilege to experience what a great group of guys the Florida CC has representing this great sport, Andy aka
"Crappieday" took me out on his boat & knew I hadn't wetted a line in a few months & was eager to make sure I got on some fish by placing me in the back with 6 poles, while he was content fish'n 2 up front.
As it turns out 2 poles was all he needed, we had a blast & there was a 1&1/2-2 hr period that we were steady pulling up 1 quality fish after another, I believe (7) 14" which crappie slayer Andy took care of 6 of them & well deserved his 1st place showing....YOU THE MAN....but more important the camaraderie was second to none & that alone was the WIN WIN. All you guys ROCK & I"m glad I got to see some old friend having what is shaping up to be a banner season. Here's a pic, notice the tail, that bugger tried to haul !@#$@! when he seen Andy on the other end, but no can do he nailed him!

Sorry I didn't make it there guys. Nobody wanted to go on Saturday (football games) so I stopped at Crescent and had a great day. I have been Speck fishing for a long time but this was my first time longlining. I loved it! No wind at Crescent!!?? I got lost in the fog but caught 17 once I could see where I was. Still looking forward to meeting you all. Maybe at Crescent Saturday!
