Just started tying my own a couple months ago and here are some Mylar jigs
I was wondering if they had gotten wet yet? I've been tying for a few years and love the flashy stuff, but I usually only use a few strips. I tried tying with the thought " if 2 or 3 is good, then 12 would be excellent. Same jig just more flash. They never touched it. Finally lost it in a tree. Our water isn't nearly as stained as yours is and I wonder if that is also a factor. The ties look good, and the Seatrout and other fish I got off the piers and jetties would like em fine, and the material is used regularly by others. Bare heads are what I normally tie, with a black body and chartreuse or pink tail work good. Black and gray combos are always a winner for me too. Come visit us on the lure making and jig tying forum, you're bound to find something of interest.....Skeet.

6And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
I tie em! Have not tied any of the Zipjig type like that though. Use to raise chickens and the yellowish brown hens have some great feathers on them for shrimp imitations in the brine. Mostly tie marabou and bucktail jigs for specks. Fixin to order me another thousand hooks so I can pour, paint and tie some more. Also tie some on a different hook with no weight for spiderrigging. Kinda like Donnies in the member classifieds but a different hook, shorter shank and razor sharp. Problem with them is they are so sharp they actually penetrate a gars jaw, not a horrible thing but i would rather give em a lil slack and shake em off instead of landing them and pullin hooks out the dang things.
Got a bunch tied up for Lake Talquin, some are posted on the jig tying forum. a lot of good info there that makes it enjoyable. Like your mylar tails, a good color for the head is hot pink with silver tail. Still haven't caught much on my ties but hope that changes fri and sat.--shu

Have used a few of Dave's tied jigs - mostly in orange - pink & green. when flared out,
minnow tipped work excellant for Spider riggin. Dave tied me several using 48th oz
#2 & #4 hooks ....
Dave can also tie a nice multi color yellow head, silver body, chart feather tail,
works well on single poe jiggin
Another person who can tie an excellant zip jig, Terry Riley (Roger's wife) out of
Kissimmee Lake Florida..............They use their's for single pole jiggin & spider riggin.
Has thought about going commercial couple times, but just enjoys doing it........
