Default Dock shooting in the kayak

Decided to fish the kayak. That way there is not as much to remember to take along. Perfect morning for it. No wind, slow out going tide and a little overcast. Shooting docks in a yak is really fun. Your right there on top of the water where you can shoot that jig way back under the docks. Ended up catching 11 specks and a few brim.

GREAT pictures...my day wasn't as productive. Caught 6 bass and hooked a ton of gar....only caught one 11" speck. With the water up about a foot I poled my way back into horseshoe off lake carlton. Haven't been there in three years (low water). Seems like the gar took over during that time. Use to be a good summer speck hole.

A few more pictures like this and I'm gonna pull the trigger on a yak. That looks like a ton of fun. I use to have a "Sneak" boat but sold it to get a Tracker since it was limited in where I could go. Wish I had kept it, so a Yak seems like a good replacement. Those shady docks should hold a ton of fish. Good report.
    PS
Just curious, is the DF transducer mounted to the PVC I see on the left side of the Yak?? How is it rigged?

Searay. yes that is my transducer mount. I used a 1/2" 45 and notched it to fit over the pad eye. Then took a long bolt and bent it to look like a J bolt. Drilled a hole in the 45 and attached the J bolt to the pad eye. Then I drilled the same 45 to put on the screw knob. That way you can swing up the transducer to a horizontal position.

Thats nuts. I don't think that kayak and shark should be used in the same sentence.
