Beautiful day on Lake Tarpon today! Picked up dad and headed to the lake, arriving around noon. Wind was a little stiff and out of the SSE, so we motored slowly over to the east bank to drift from Piney Point north to Pasture Fence Point.
Fish were scattered, and we caught them on just about everything we dragged. This included 1/8 ounce road runner with a slider grub in green/yellow (Deer John color), electric chicken garland shad (1/32 jig head), 1/16 white hair jig (my dad ties these) and even a tiny little yellow/brown 1.5" slider grub on a 1/32 jig head. Total of 5 crappie (biggest was 13") and 2 bluegill. I lost the biggest crappie near the boat (RR w/ slider grub). Fish started out near the bottom in 12 feet of water and moved up to about 6 feet deep later in the afternoon.
I want as many of these days as I can get with dad!
Nice job...
Awesome report & great pictures - dad looks happy, happy, happy !!
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

You know, he took me fishing as a kid for years and years. I am very happy to be able to repay that!
