    Default Choctawhatchee River/B lack Creek

Poked around for about 3 hours yesterday after a later morning start out of Black Creek Lodge. Only one rig in the parking lot which is usually not a good omen. This proved to be correct, but what a beautiful day to be on the water with good frends. We managed to box 7 nice big'uns and tossed a bass When we got back to the landing there were a couple of other rigs parked and a boat came in as we were preparing for a cook out in the picnic area. Not a fish he reported.
We set-up the cooking equipment and proceeded to have a scrumptious meal of crappie and a few bream brought from home (just in case). Forgot to take some pictures of the feast as I was the cook. Burned most of the hush puppies so the fish in the creek got a meal too.

Nice fish & great pics !!
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

Black Creek!!! I grew up in Geneva AL. Use to fish that place like crazy for mullet. My dad is a regular down there still. We use to snatch mullet one weekend then go to Seven Runs or little chub lake and catch Crappie the next. I am glad you posted that. Brings back good memories for me.

Nice looking crappie. Looking forward to fishing that area. Drop me a line next time you fish.
