No argument here. I'm all about safety. I originally was a Volvo mechanic (only 2 years before I got into computers). My uncle was the service manager at a Volvo shop. I probably drove 10 different "bricks". Those square 240 series, ugly Volvo's.
After he passed I felt I was the only Volvo "fix it yourself" Volvo mechanic out there. I searched high and low and found that on the Internet there were tons of people fixing their own BMW's, so I switched to that brand.
I always told my daughters, they could drive any car they wanted as long as it was a Mercedes, Volvo or a BMW! All because of their reputation for safety. lol.
Anyway, when I left the computer field I worked for BMW for 5 years. Another reason I've stuck with that brand. But all that is kinda mute now. Pretty much all brands have a ton of safety built into them these days. And yes, bigger is better when it comes to safety (another reason I'd like a truck). No real reason to pick those German brands anymore except that I know how to fix Bimmers., so there you go.
