    Default Talquin Slabfest Events

This years Slabfest will be pretty much the same as last years Slabfest. Everything is informal with a good time for everyone in mind. We will start selling tickets for Door Prizes on Wednesday, Nov 6. Tickets are $1.00 each. The more you buy the better your chances. The proceeds of these tickets wil go to buy all the food and drinks that will be provided. Any money left over will be used for purchasing Lake Talquin Lodge Gift Certificates to be given away.
On Thursday evening, Nov 7, anyone interested is invited to go out to eat with the group at Angels. I think we had about 30-35 that went last year and the food was great!!
On Friday, Nov 8, there will be a little Pot Luck Tournament. Entrance fee is $10 per boat and $5 for Big Fish for those who are interested. Must sign up before 7:00 a.m. Fish until 12:00 noon. Heaviest 7 fish takes all and Biggest fish wins all the Big Fish money. This is only a voluntary tournament.
Friday evening, Nov 8 will be our Meet and Greet Fish Fry. This will be the time when we will have plenty of time to mingle and meet the new members and tell ...uh...."Stories". For those that have Name tags, please bring them and wear them. For those who do not have name tags, Talquin Maggie will be glad to make you one so we will all know who each other are.
Saturday, Nov 9 we will all fish until 12:00 or so and come in for a Hot Dog lunch. We will be weihing in 1 Big Fish per person and, according to how much money is left over for gift certificates, give away gift certificates from Lake Talquin Lodge. Last year we gave away 6 $40 Big Fish Gift Certificates and we hope to do the same this year.
We will be giving away some door prizes possibly on Friday night at the Fish Fry and the remainder will be given away after lunch on Saturday. Hooker and/or myself will be there from Nov 1 all the way thru Slabfest weekend and we will have internet access. Feel free to contact either of us if you need anything at all.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there at Lake Talquin!!!!!!!!!!

Take Hwy 267 S out of Quincy, turn left on CR 65C just past bait/convenience store, go 4.3 miles and turn left on Gainey Road at the big blue sign.
