I did not start fishing Monroe until Oct. last year.
Was Sept. good? Oct. was very good last year. Hope
it will be again this year.

Attention all crappie fisherpeople and good ones too.....The fish is biting in Monroe! Went out this morning with the legendary specktacklure. We weren't expecting to do much maybe 5 or 6 at the most. So we went to a sweet spot and rode the rough water for about an hour then moved to another sweet spot and did the same. All this time we picked up 3 or 4 small dinks. Around 9:30 or so we had our first keeper and just our luck the wind picked even more and it was almost impossible to keep a straight troll line. So, rather than going home we decided to let the wind push us wherever it wanted to. And it did...... across the lake at 1.2 to 1.5 MPH. It was a rough ride and a few whitecaps, then the fish started biting both ends...longlines and pushers. Ended up catching 25 to 30 with 10 slab keepers. We had a great day!

Rocky chop drifting is a favorite pastime, did you guys happen to note if they hammered the baits on the downward motion or on the thrust toward the upward motion? Either way, sure looked like a lot of fun, WTG!!
