There are several of us on here that fish Talquin regularly..We all are in need of a friend/buddy that has a HOUSE on Talquin so we can all have a place to crash at...Seriously, most of us stay at Lake Talquin Lodge about 4-5 miles up the lake from where you will be staying at. I have an uncle that lives down close to the dam on Blount Creek..Myself, Lightwirehooker, Rawhide, Chuck Auten, Heavylead, No Mercy, 30More, Crappielimits and Quickhook are just a few of us that fish there regularly. Talquin is more of a Longlining lake for crappie, but people have had success slow trolling also...Lots of good fishing for catfish, shellcrackers, bluegills, stripers and bass..Looking forward to meeting you in the future!!

Welcome! Pm me anytime you have questions! I agree longlining is the best way to hit Talquin most of the year, but I have caught a ton spider rigging. It is especially great in the winter and some summer months as we do get a good thermocline at times.

I will be living on the lake the next cove west of blount creek. when i used to fish talquin, i did nothing but longlining-two 1/16oz.curly tail jigs per rod usually. fished ochlawaha, stoudamire, blount, polk, harvey mill creeks primarily. never fished the lake east of williams landing nor the ochlockonee river. went to slow trolling down here (leesburg) for lake monroe, lake harris, st john's river. stay in touch. jim.
