I worked with NASA on the Apollo program. I was there for the big sink hole event in Winter Park in '81. I fished Jessup around Gator Island...Lots of eaters. Got the big fishes in Puzzle Lake. Loved it. I did lot of shrimping, clamming and gathering oysters off clusters in the Indian River. Probably illegal now.

Lake Harris is where I mostly flew my kite. You know, behind the boat type with 20-30 foot wingspan. Love Florida.

Just gotta watch the Florida aquaculture for open areas for clamming and oysters and it changes frequently, at least it seems that way. Got any pics of that big kite. Sounds cool.

No pics. I just have my memories. I crashed that thing several times while trying to land (on water).

My memory eludes me at times. We locked thru from Lake Harris or Griff or some larger lake and made our way to Silver Springs. The channel banks was loaded with wild monkeys and alligators. They run us of Silver Springs, claiming ownership of the water. In the late 70's it was.

I personally have not been up there by boat but, i understand that it is still as you mentioned.

I have made the trip from the public ramp on the Oklawaha river on HWY 40 to Silver Springs as far as allowed but not from the Harris Chain.
