I am just curious as to if any of you know anything about Lake Okeechobee? I am fishing a college bass tournament on January 12th, I am just trying to figure out some general information on what to throw, and what the layout of the lake is. This is definately going to be an experience (going to a lake I have never fished or seen and fishing a tournament), but I am looking forward to the experience!!!!! I will probably post another thread a little closer to time, but if any of have any information I would greatly appreciate it. We are really put at a disadvantage this year with all the tournaments be so far from the home. We do not have the money or time since we are in scholl to make practice fishing trips, that are so far from home. Thanks in advance yall!!!!! PMs are welcome, if you don't want to post to the public.

Check on the Florida Forums of Bass and the fishing at Okie, in Jan-Feb is about the best there is.Bass are starting to bed and sight fishing is usually the way to go.The lake is big and shallow, some spots require local knowledge which is shared by the people at the docks and local bait and tackle stores.Good luck and bring sun protection.
kings bar about mile out of kissimee, harney pond, monkey box all great spots!!
