Well, we took three boats, Me, my son and his GF, and my daughter and her BF. We put in at the main street ramp and trolled towards the sr21 bridge. Trolled a total of 1.69 miles according to gps, caught nothing. I talked to a local guy who lives there and he said they have had a ton of rain recently and that fishing is real bad right now. Going back in the morning. Sure is beautiful river though.

Caught 10 specks this morning in the creek. Slow trolling/drifting minnows 10' to 14' deep. Kept 6 of them.

Still not catching any fish but damn this place is pretty riding. I talked to a local and he was telling me that I should go back under the SR21 bridge and keep going down to where the houses stop, said it's pretty good fishing down that way. I'm just enjoying having somewhere to put the boat in the water.

Mark38090, if you go past 21 bridge it is about 2.5 or 3 miles to where the houses end. That will put you in Jennings Forest. The creek is real narrow and shallow back their the deep curves are about 6 foot deep. It is beautiful and the fishing is good if you want to catch red bellies and some catfish also the strippers are running up in their right now. If you catch a speck back in their it is because it was lost. If you want to catch specks when you leave the Middleburg boat ramp take a right. You will come to the forks of the creek take a left and head east like you are headed toward Green Cove Springs. This area of the creek is real deep and hold more specks. I caught 10 last Saturday drifting minnows about 10 to 14 feet deep in 17 to 20 feet of water. Also try around some of the falling brush with jigs.

I don't mean to reserect an old thread, but I launched at the black creek boat ramp near camp chowenwa the other day. Was with my father in law & we drift trolled in his boat with live minnows with the current. He caught one nice slab in about 27' of water when we were in the proximity of the shrine club (just on the river). I caught zip. Spent 4 hours with just the one hookup. I am new to crappie and primarily Fish black creek & surrounding waters. I will share info if something works
