Do you think the shell crackers will be bedding this week?
This weekend is the full moon of April. That’s around when they bed in Central Florida, correct? I know of a crystal clear lake that is full of gigantic shell crackers. I can’t find them during the rest of the year but I can see them all over the lake at night with a spotlight. Does anyone know if they bed later or earlier in clear water? thanks
I know for certain there was no roe to speak of in the fish I caught Sunday on the river. maybe next month.
May is usually the best month for me in GA or at Talquin...Not sure about that No-Named lakeRofl
If water is clear you should be able to see beds at least. If you find the beds back off and cast to them.

Best advice yet! I don't wait on anything. If I want to catch shellies I go shelly fishin' if they ain't biting that day I'll go the next day and so on that way I'll be there when they decide they want to bite! lol But seriously.....I see the regulars anchored up in the shallows and I know they ain't catchin' specks. With this heat and the full moon = bream of all kinds will be bedding. HS and Boom Boom might be right about May, but if they're not you missed a whole month of fishing.
Slimecoat, try this site for some good info on bream.....

Without a doubt you have to be fishin to catch em. And they ain't got to be beddin to catch em.
I have heard rumors of some nice crackers coming off of shell bars close to the mouth of dunns creek. Atleast thats what some old retired guys on base told me.

Any body tried this?
. If you mind your manners and ask in lowered tones when no one else is around, you might inquire about buying some frozen gar roe - a piscatorial sirens song when cast upon the waters.
