The switch that I have in line with the two trolling motor batteries allow me to select which battery I want to use. I mainly start off using the INTERSTATE SRM 27 600CCA 750MCA battery. This battery has lasted over 4 hours steady trolling at about 1.2 MPH according to GPS. My second trolling motor battery is a deep cycle size 24 battery. Can't tell you how long it will last, because I haven't "tested it".

The battery chargers that I have are a Minn Kota MK330 onboard battery charger - which charges and maintains the SRM-27 battery and two 24 deep cycle batteries.
The main cranking battery is maintained with a Minn Kota MK106.

My batteries are in one compartment and the chargers are in a second compartment. When I am charging the batteries, I have the compartment lids propped open to allow ventilation.

I might have to think about putting a smoke alarm in the compartment.

The fuse holders do get warm, because of the heavy current going thru them, BUT I don't think that they should get so hot that you can't hold on to them.
