Well, there is some local knowledge for ya. Better send that boat to Speckanator. Or find ya some small waters to fish.

No way. Agree with TnT on the dangers. Seen many big boats come in with water inside from the waves. If you do, be sure to pick calm day.

Thanks all....I thought so.....In the back of my mind I was trying to convince myself that it would be ok.....
I know where a boat is that is 100% rigged and ready and trained to catch fish on Talquin if you are interested in buying a boat![]()
A boat already trained.....can't beat that. All you have to do is get in and catch fish.

Brett, Welcome, look forward to seeing you at the next Slabfest
I agree with Hooker and TnT. The wind and weather at Talquin can be brutal on a smaller boat. Best to be safe. Are you looking to sell your boat TnT?
I agree with what others here have said about getting a boat big enough to handle Lake Talquin. Most Florida lakes are shallow and it doesn't take much wind for them to start turning upside down. I made one trip to Talquin and checked out the boats under the shed at Lake Talquin Lodge and decided I needed a pretty substantial rig to feel safe in. The Lake Talquin crowd that's on here are good folks and you can learn a lot. Welcome aboard.
