No nothing like you just said. Its fast trolling with hardly any weight. The only weight i use is the weight of the jig head with a split shot every once in a while. Cast jig heads with curlytails out behind your boat 50-100ft and set them in the rod holder. The more line and more weight the deeper you run/ less line and less weight the shallower you are running. I use alot of rods with diff size weights and diff amounts of line out until i find the right setup for the day. With the autopilot you can have rods in the front and back and if you get a strike you can walk to the back and fight the fish witout your speed changing, direction changing and the boat stopping. If you stop when you get a hit, all your other lines will fall to the bottom and either get tangled or hung up. Never stop moving, not mater what. A good starting speed is .9, then work up
