Your thinking along the same lines as I am. That and the dark tannin water and runoffs from summer showers might just make a little easier fer em to see and feel.

    SYG,
My brotherin-law and myself have been dying grubs for a long time. You might try dying a bubble gum tail with chartreuse dye.
We have been very successful producing an orange with a chartreuse tail. It can be deadly in my neck of the woods!

what kinda dye do you use? How do you get orange outta mixing pink and chartreuse? i thought yellow and red made orange. bubblegum doesnt have any red in it at all. bu thats def what i want in a 3" orange with a chartreuse tail. Thanks

I'll get out in my work shop tomorrow and let you know . I've tried many and some really work better than others!
