My wife and I headed out with the camper on Friday Morning for Palm City to visit with some friends and do some fishin. Got there and the camper set up by 2:00p.m. and were on the water and headed out by 3:45p.m. Took a while longer to find bait than we hoped and ended up with 8 nice fat 10" mullet and headed for the creeks in search of some line pullers. Did find one nice snook that managed to find my mullet Hands Clapping managed to get him boatside and while my buddy Tom was getting there to grab him he shook freeDoh:
. Then a while later from who knows where a bluefish showed up and chomped my wifes mullet and we called it a day and headed in. Met Tom and his wife Jan at 4:45a.m Saturday at the dock to head offshore. I managed to catch nothing but Bonita, meanwhile my wife caught a nice bull Dolphin
and the rest of us caught nothing more than Bonita all day. Forward to Sunday and back offshore bright and early and yes I was Master Bait catcher once again with nothing caught than Bonita Jan hooked into a really nice Amberjack and after about 20minutes handed the rod off to Tom to finish the battle and another 20 minutes or so he joined the party aboard
Not long after Jans rod starts singing again and shortly the telltale gold and blue appears in the depths and another dolphin joins the party
We spent another couple hours diligently fighting Bonitas off the boat and chunking em up and chumming with them and finally Jans rod starts singing line off at the speed of light and low and behold the show started
Got em in the boat snapped a couple pics and revived em and sent em on its way to fight again
and we did not count the bonitas but I would have to say we caught at least 30 in the 2 days fishing. Them buggers might not eat good but they dern sure know how to stretch line and pull drag.Had a great time and enjoyed the time spent with friends.Thumbs Up. Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend as much as we did, and God Bless the troops and Veterans for fighting for our freedom and safety to allow us to enjoy such good friends, good times and the memories made.
Almost forgot we had an un expected visitor that we escorted back to land inside the electronics box. I don't know where he came from but that little bird was dern sure glad to find our boat and land. Slept soundly for a couple hours in the electronics box.

SUPER GREAT post, Mike. We had didn't have quite as much action, but managed to catch a few trout. The weather was great, but the wind was a pain in the #$$. Looks like you had calm seas. I also agree ..... God Bless the troops and Veterans for fighting for our freedom and safety!

Yes, for a change the planets aligned adn I managed to pick a good weekend to go. You can see the difference between Saturday and Sunday in the pics. And this week is forecasting rough seas all week. Glad to hear ya found some trout. Was it real crowded in the lagoon?
Great story huntinslabs, well narriated, complete with pictures that enhanced the telling.
Very well done, kept me reading all the way to end..............
Almost unbelieable the number of good things that happened on weekend........
friends, variations of fish caught, encluding the saving of a bird..........absoultley great
Thanks for sharing a wonderful trip.
Since were all off topic here this is what i got Sunday night at Rodman Dam. Fished with mussels, shrimp, and night crawlers. Mussels were the best overall, prob caught 50-60, only kept around 20. Got 2 gallon bags full of fillets off these sweet little fellas, Catfish stew here i come!

Nice catch of cats TC, have never fished Rodman, will consult you when i go there
after spec's.........have heard that they are in there.
Thanks for picture ........says thousand words
they were on the river side, not the reservior. People on the bank at the dam were catching just as many, we just needed to be in the boat because a sign in the park read "no alcohol allowed". Now how are you supposed to catfish at night without a cold one in your hand? beats the heck outta me

Nice SYG, ever tried them big uns in spaghetti sauce? It can change the way ya think of spaghetti.
813, as long as I have my family and friends around I am golden and enjoy anything, fishing just throws it over the top, catching fish as well becomes a gift from God to be cherished. I was extremely exhausted driving home Monday, but couldn't have been happier or more relaxed. Looking forward to the next trip when the planets align again or possibly an excursion to the Carolina's on a hunt.
well said my friend...............
