I few year ago my son and I were fishing on the Chickahominy River when we came across a large Northern Water Snake basking on a branch. We weren't catching much so we decided to do when boys do - poke at it with our rods.
The snake went into the water and made several mad dashes for our boat. We pushed it away and finally it disappeared. When we were done fishing that area, we decided to move somewhere else. My son asked me where the snake went and I didn't know. He told me to check the motor before I started it and sure enough, it was climbing up the outboard and was about to come into the boat. A few weeks ago I was fishing near the same spot. I found a smaller Northern Water Snake cruising along so I grabbed it and brought it into the boat. After taking a few pictures, the ungrateful bastard bit me. Then he made his get-away. (pic 4,5)
Actually, I love snakes. I go out and lopok for them whenever I can.
Regards,
Rowland
