"So there I was, I'd finally hooked up that old grand daddy cat fish of local lore. The fight had been on for a good ten minutes, just as I got him to shore a big foot walked up, slapped his face in the water and took that old catfish for himself (he can keep my rod)."

So OK, that story was believable right to the point where big foot got envolved.
Personally stories around the campfire are light years more entertaining than a video. True or not, it won't matter as long as you make it entertaining and convincing.

I don't care if my grandfather loaded both barrels with bull feathers or half full of fluff. The riveting way he told his stories had me filled with awe and inspired my love for the sport so I can make my own stories (be they true or not).
