Caught a nylon rope on a crankbait and when we pulled it up, there was a 14' canoe on the other end. DNR told us we could keep it since it had no numbers and no one had reported it missing. Had some nice tackle in it too.

I hooked a limb off of the bottom of the lake. When I got it up to the boat it had another line on it. When I pulled the line in there was a Zebco snapshot spinning combo attached. I cleaned it up and still use it some.
I've never had to buy an anchor.
Snag a rope with a crankbait, pull it in along with the anchor.
Got three now![]()
I caught my brother when I was about 12 (he was 8). I didnt realize how close behind me he was and i went to cast, caught him in the back of the head, actually got he barb into the skin! My parents ended up taking him to the immediate care to have it removed. Biggest thing I caught that summer!
In a reservoir, I caught a Coleman lantern that had been in the water long enough that the bottom of the tank had rusted through and the tank was full of mud. The globe was gone-probably shattered when the hot globe hit the water.
Also caught what looked like a stick until I realized the "stick" had guides on it. It turned out to be a Zebco outfit that was usable when it was cleaned up.

The girlfriend caught her first two crappie back to back, nice 14" fish. Needless to say she was excited. I had her fishing with a little Zebco underspin and those 14" crappie gave the drag a workout. A couple of cast later the current swept the minnow on one side of the piling and the cork on the other, when the current pulled the cork under she set the hook hard and went to reeling and pumping the rod, OMG! This one is*huge, come help me, steadily pumping and reeling and the drag screaming, the guys on the other ashore of the bridge had became interested at this time. OMG! You have to come help me before I lose it. I finally gotten close enough to whisper you have hooked the bridge sweetie. I tease her about even if she had landed the bridge we would have had to thrown it back because it is illegal to remove a bridge from Alabama State waters without a special permit.![]()

was perch fishing off a pier in lake michigan and my bro in law at the time was throwing these big arcing casts.i guess he figure height meant distance.well it's going on dark and he whips his line out there and a bat radared in on his bait and gets hooked in the wing.not an easy thing to safely release a bat.
the other night I was sitting on the bank fishing for catfish & had a huge bite so I set the hook & fought it in for over 10 min..... when I finaly got it in it was a huge 50+ gallon plastic bag...... Boy did i feel silly after saying "This thing has to be Huge" the whole time reeling it in.
