    Default Junk

Fished a bass tournament in the early 80's and was just cutting my teeth in the sport. At an open on Indian Lake in Ohio I fished all day and caught a pipe with holes in it (caught on a crankbait) a top of a fire extenguisher (caught on a spinnerbait) and a pair of Bill Dance Polaroid Fishing glasses without the lenses (caught on a worm flipping).
I put all three in my weigh in bag and waited until last to weigh them in. The guys leading the tournament heard I had a good bag and were relieved (and p*ssed) when I pulled out all of the junk!!!:D

I caught a whole fish basket full of bullfrogs on a Tiny Torpedo. Never saw anything like it. Throw it in the general area and twitch it, and the frogs had to have it. Then reel in fast because you couldn't get the hook to really stick. One right after the other on almost every cast.

My dad caught a flat rock one time in a creek. He fought it for a while, and when he got it close, he hollered "It's going under the dock." Me and our buddy had the net, and when we saw it was rock, we both just hit the dock laughing. Every time somebody would say "It's going under the dock." we'd laugh until we cried.

First off I didn't catch it. A catch related to me by a dear friend.
Don't know how many of you know about castnetting mullet. Mullet are good eating and people castnet for mullet to eat and have for a long, long time. My friend who was born in Hileah, Fl told this to me years ago about his Dad castnetting mullet while wading at night next to a bridge some where in southeast Florida. Now most of the time you can't see what's on the bottom where you cast your net. Therefor sometimes your net will get hung on something unseen. Well this man cast his net over some mullet he saw and the net got hung up on something. He started pulling net and mullet jumping in his net and trying to move whatever he was hung on. He was fishing alone and pulling and pulling when up popped an arm and shoulder close enough to him that he could tell what it was. That almost scared him to death right there. He managed to tie the net off to something while he went and called the police. After getting police and fire department with some lighting they pulled the net in and found a manikin in his net. He was extremly relieved it was not a body. He said he would have thrown his net away were it a human body.

When I was just a youth I caught a soft shell turtle while using a crawfish tail for bait. My father and I caught several snakes on limb lines while catfishing. Another time my father and I were crappie fishing from the bank at a bridge over the local lake. He hooked into something that did not fight like a fish, but had some weight to it. When he managed to get it to the bank it was a stringer of crappie and there was probably 12 or 15 crappie on it. Another guy fishing nearby claimed his buddy had lost the stringer a few days before. He took the stringer to return them to his buddy, but I always wondered about that!

Casting off a small waterfall on the Spring. I hook something, feel it start to fight, I reel, it pulls, it's going hard and I doubt my 4# line will hold, then I see bubbles and a scuba diver surfaces. No, I didn't hook him. I hooked a line from a pole that had been lost and he found it scuba diving under the falls for cash and such from all the float trip drunks upstream. He had the rod/reel and all I had was the line, he won.

What's with all the naked girls. There are at least three accounts for thongs, panties, and bikinis in here. I caught a bra, it was the industrial strength size.

Back in my Bass fishing days I caught alot of things. Hooked a Beaver on a top water bait , glad hook pulled out! Caught a Turtle on a spinnerbait in a tournament. Caught a Mallard Duck that was pecking at my spinner bait hung on a log as it broke free. Poor duck died when the big hook poked his head. Reeled in a metal snap fish stringer loaded with Bass. Have reeled up a couple rod and reels, one I had lost the year before Catfishing.
