I have seen that too, Redge, both sparrows and starlings. But not often.
A number of years ago, we used to fish the old Arrowhead dock (Eufaula) that burned down. The cleaning station on the bank released the crappie remains into the shallow water at the very edge of the shore. Those big old cats would swarm all over the remains, just chowing down like some of the guys eating chili at the crappie camp. I tried to catch them several times, but I think there was just too much food there for them to locate my bait.
