Default really wanted some panfish for dinner tonight...

The wife and kids all came with me this morning to a small lake nearby. We loaded down with live worms and the lake usually has plenty of bluegill and crappie biting. The kiddo started things off with a 1.5 pound bass on a live worm and then a tiny bluegill that we threw back. After no bites for quite some time, I decided to tie on one of my favorite panfish lures and give up on worms. Wound up with this:

Guess Rooster Tails can catch a lot of things. Thumbs Up No panfish, but a couple of bass made for a nice lunch anyway.

Thanks a bunch! Was a great family day where everyone caught something (wife also caught a small bass we threw back). I've gotten to the point in my fishing career where I really just enjoy going and want the others to catch stuff. Every now and then, though, something like that bass brings the fire back. LOL.

I tell ya, I ALWAYS throw out a rooster tail when I'm fishing ALWAYS. My largest: Rainbow, Smallie and gill were all caught on one.

There is one river here in WV (I'm not telling where!) that is difficult to get to, but I fish it exclusively with a black rooster tail and always do really well....that's where my largest smallie was....
