Default Ky Hydrographx maps on GPS.

I finally tried the gps out that I had previously loaded with Ky Hydrgraphx maps. Worked pretty darn good. The map files are large, so at higher area zooms (500 ft and above), there is somewhat of a delay, but I seldom zoom that far out. I have the maps installed on my 276c. Anyone who wants to see it work can chase me down on Ky lake. I will be glad to show it to you. I know the lake pretty good, so I don't do too much zooming. I zoom out to about 200 and zoom in to 20. That's a lot of zooming anyway.

There are tricks to doing this stuff. I am on a learning curve........

    Canepole,
How do you think it would work in this situation? Slowly Spiderrigging down a strech of ledge with the plotter screen?

    Thanks,
    Tom

The Garmin GPS that you are using. My question may not be clear.

Yes...We used it this morning to follow a ledge. I will be glad to show you, but I have to get my wife past eye surgery this month.

Do you ever fish Big Sandy area?

    Canepole,
I used to fish Big Sandy with Pat Hahs. I worked with him before I retired July 07. I quit fishing the big lakes when gas got so high. Big Sandy was my favorite area. I may start fishing there again. I would like to be able to use his maps with a gps instead of a gps/pda setup. I may come down and see you sometime after you have had time to work with your kyhdyromaps/gps setup. Thanks for the info!

    Pat is a fine fellow.

I need to load and test different color/pixel values and test them out. The more pixels and color, the more the detail, but longer load times. My 276c has about a 3 x 4 screen. I can do this at home, but only in the simulator. Need the real thing to verify. I will keep you posted on progress.

Cane Pole are you using topo or the side scan?
Trump is like the guy that comes on the playground and beats up on the guys that's been pushing you around for the last 30 or 40 years.

    Cane pole

I have a Magellian meridian avalible for testing. I have blood river and Johnathan Creek scans. I wonder how it will work on a Lowrance HDS 5.
I think the mistake a lot of us make is thinking the state-appointed shrink is our friend.
