Default Need your opinions on SI please....URGENT...

I currently have a Humminbird 595c w/GPS at the rear of my boat and a Lowrance X67C fish finder and a Garmin 60CS GPS on the front. I have the opportunity to purchase a 797 Humminbird SI for $600.00. I am concerned after hearing all of the complaints about these units I will be taking a step backwards. The 797 is one of the units with only a single card slot. What do yall think? I just cant seem to decide either way... Thanks for your input..

Yep, speaking as one who got into a 797 that way (used), I'd do it
again. Sounds like fair price. Now I probably wouldn't go for one new
unless they marked it down close to that...

J&h has the 798 two card machine for under 900.00.. I think its 871.98.. From what I hear the 798 may have a larger screen. For what its worth

I,ve had one now for 2 years and love it. It does everything I want in a fish finder. Great sonar. The gps is a little slow, but if you zoom out the closer you get to your target it will help you get pretty close. The only thing I would have done different is buy the 1197c....ha

The main compliant is with GPS on these units. The SI is great.

    Default 797

i have a 997 and a 787 and i like the 787 better. to me it is the best depthfinder for locating schools of fish and shad on the market today.

Well I went on and bit the bullet. I bought the 797 and should receive it by Monday. Does anyone know what I will need to link it with my 595. Any advice on uploads or updated gps pucks/transducers that I should install? Thanks.
