    Default SI Install

If I'm gonna install a SI unit, should I put it up front or on the console?
Give a man a fish and feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day!

i always heard to put them at the console because you will need to be moving somewhere around 5mph for good side scan results

Why not put it on a bar where you can slide it so you can use it at both places. I have mine fixed that way and i love it.

mount it on a ram mount so you can use it at the console then turn it around and use it when you are trolling.or buy another transducer, or switch and bass and power wire and you can take it off and move it back and forth.i have mine at the console so i can turn it and see it will i troll it is a 997 though

optimum speed for optimum side imaging is around 3 mph. I would put it at on the console.
