Red face Need help on MK powrdrive 80#

I tried my first night stalk this weekend. After catching no fish, I trolled up to the ramp to load my boat, got out an backed the trailer into the water and got back in my boat but forgot to stow by trolling motor before loading the boat. Needless to say the shaft on the powerdrive is very strog but the housing around the little motor that turns the shaft is not. Anyway, i found the motor on the web for $80.

The question that i have is how do you get the shaft out of the motor? I assume ether the actual motor with the prop or the other end has to come off in order to slide it out but i'm not sure.

The info is great. Sounds a little more complicated than i thought and it sounds like i will need some special $$ tools to take it off. I wonder if it would be easier to take the top off rather than the lower unit?
Can you give me the link on the info you sent??

    Thanks again for the info.

That come out of MK's service manual. PM me your E-mail address and I'll send it to you. Hope you don't have dial-up as its a file over 6 meg.
