Yes Sir, now that you mention it, my blue grass seems to only grow
when I've got the 83 freq. on - I usually run both beams.

IBNFSHN, thanks - have to give that a try soon.

I have the same noise, etc. My HB care package came in today. I will be installing it sooner or later. That one part looks like a hemorrhoid donut.:o

You talkin about the tm choke CP? Just curious if yours is like the one
they sent me... the pics in the instructions they sent out were of just
a donut with wires wrapped round n round, but the actual part they sent
was "potted" inside a neat lil black case, can't see the wires
looked like maybe a new and improved version compared to the pics.

I'm also having problems, particularly with my bow mount 917 hooked to the US2 on my trolling motor. I emailed HB, but haven't received an answer. The depth reading goes wild and the screen is generally screwed up.

I must say that after using my SI for two trips and ready to send it back and get a refund, HB said I had a trolling motor issue. After I installed their kit I have a perfect picture. I really only use it on the bow so without the kit it was useless.
I would have been better off using the Bahamian depthfinder. A 5 gallon bucket with the bottom replaced with 3/4" clear plastic. Our water isn't clear enough for the bucket fishfinder.
    LOL
Soak em if you got em
