I would go with the new 798, I have a 797 and wish I had gone with the 997 now. The bigger screen would really have made life easier when trying to figure out what you are looking at. I still love it though!

I agree with the previous post....more pixels and 2 card slots.

I am kicking myself for not waiting for the 798.

I love my 797 but wished I had that extra card slot to run a map and create waypoints.
Nothing better than getting out on the water.

First I would check prices at J&H marine they are probably a lot cheaper , I have the 997 and do like the 2 slot sd card , you can put the navionics on 1 side and take pictures on the other .

Nice price here with free shipping. The resolution is better on the 798 (640 x 640) than the 797 (640x480)

That $884 is the same price as J & H if you add in shipping. Tough to beat. I'm getting the 798. I hope it's all it seems to be. Does it have a button that makes the fish jump into the boat? That would make it even nicer!

I bought a 798 got to get it out on the water last sunday. I had to work for the bash but made it out sunday. I have a 737,787. Using all of them the 798 is the BOMB!! It was a pill to bite buying it. But I am so happy and glad.
