    Default 997 Touchy Subject Gps

Bass pro is showing a HB receiver gps for the 997 1100series 797 series called high accuracy receiver , they also have a 50 channel receiver for 149.00 , After calling today I was told these are accessories , Has anyone tried the high accuracy for 199.00 to see if the problem is gone away? If so where can you get it for a better price.?

It's not really an "accuracy issue", it's the slooooooooooooooow screen refresh rate that causes the problem.

Well its not like me to start trouble ,LOL , sorry the trouble I am finding is you have to pass over a spot get out 50 ft from it and then ease in to it and hope thats the right spot. I found that 50 channel receiver and thought maybe they came out with the fix. 149.00 at J&H.

I just bought a 997 from the humminbird outlet store and saved 320.00 on the whole system and it came with the 50 channel GPS. I hope it works good. I'm installing it this weekend.

    Default gps

It will work , fine , the problem we see is the amount of time it takes to work . they seem to be slow , let us know how the 50 channel works mine along with most of the 07 and 08 only have 16 channels ? from what ive learned their is only 16 satalites , but the advantage you have is that with 50 channels it will switch to stronger signals for positioning . Please let us know how you like it.

Get a good Garmin GPS and use it if you want to find your spot fast. If you use the HB for GPS go very slow and drop a marker and then go around and around and then good luck.
    LOL
