I don't use the GPS on my 797. I have a Garmin 378 that is mounted facing the rear of the boat so I can see my direction to my point and when I get within about 100 feet I kill the big motor and use the troller. The Garmin updates so fast and points me straight to my spot. When my spots only cover about 8x8 then you don't have time to goof off with an inaccurate, slow, useless GPS system. Just my view!
I like to find um fast, fish um and move move on.

Garmin has the gps down pat, I wish HB would use the same setup for getting to waypoints as garmin. I have a 797 its linked to my 737 on the bow. Once I find the pile back that I marked with the 797 on the 737. I store it with the my handheld garmin 76 to get back to next time.
