That has possibilities. I see it has the Kort thrust nozzle. It would put my Jon boat on plane. 15 hp. wow. My Minn Kota prob has about 1/2 hp. It too fast......

Far better engineering than the Minn Kota version. Little more money too.

One of the last times I was at Beaverdam, a 20' jon had one of those on the back of the boat. He drove the boat up on the trailer using that thing.

I asked how many batteries he was using and the answer was "10".

I did some searching but can't find out what max current draw is running wide open. I figure 12 batteries wired in series/parallel for 72V would be the way to go. Also seen where it will run as low as 1 RPM.

There exisrs several electric motor kickers on the market. Briggs makes one. This one you posted is the most impressive I have seen.

There are trade offs on electric power and also the Kort nozzle. I can't remember all the details.

I am gonna build something electric powered for my wife. Still looking for the crappie jon.

Here is another link to TM modification. Other folks screw with TM too.:p

I did this (similar) on that big rc boat I built 4-5 years ago. I ran 24 volts on the old Sigma 23. It really scooted the boat.

    Endura PWM Powered

I wish I could buy a Kort nozzle and prop for my tm. This arrangement is 30%-50% more efficient than open blade (up to a certain speed). This could mean you could use a 50 lb thrust tm and have the power of the 100 lb tm.

    Half the expense. Guess what??

It is not that I am an expert here, it is just that I have tinkered with this stuff on my robots, and I know what don't work good.:o

You're right about the thrust benifits of the korts. Most of out towboats have them. All other things being equal a kort boat will out shove an open wheeled boat almost every time, with the exception being very shallow water.
