I did this (similar) on that big rc boat I built 4-5 years ago. I ran 24 volts on the old Sigma 23. It really scooted the boat.

I wish I could buy a Kort nozzle and prop for my tm. This arrangement is 30%-50% more efficient than open blade (up to a certain speed). This could mean you could use a 50 lb thrust tm and have the power of the 100 lb tm.

Half the expense. Guess what??

It is not that I am an expert here, it is just that I have tinkered with this stuff on my robots, and I know what don't work good.:o
You're right about the thrust benifits of the korts. Most of out towboats have them. All other things being equal a kort boat will out shove an open wheeled boat almost every time, with the exception being very shallow water.
