No one from Humminbird showed up to meet my challenge about trolling. Too bad. They missed a chance at a good good fishing trip... I guess I just ain't got no clout.They still welcome though.

I know how you feel about the Garmin. I just hate to tear my boat apart...AGAIN to switch everything out.

I would try it out before I did any "open heart" surgery on my boat. Lay it out and try it out. I do not have my antenna laced in yet. 2 months now.Because they are afraid of what you will FIND wrong with it! Duuuh! :D That's a kin to asking the devil to come spend the night with ya.

Cool. I'll give it a try. One more question should I mount it on the front of the boat since that is where the unit is and that's where I want to mark brushpiles, stumps, and ledges. If I put it at the back of the boat the Gps will be reading from back there and not up front...correct.
I get any more stuff up front I'm going to need a car rackmounted to my boat. :D

I agree with the simple fact that most here have stated. Use the HB for SI and keep the Garmin for accurate guidance to where your going. I do hope that HB will fix the issue but I'm not sure it will be for the units already sold.
I really do enjoy all the knowledge shared on this site, and I do agree that HB customer service is much more helpful than the big companies that have their customer service in another country. I had a issue with interference from my trolling motor and they sent out a kit to get rid of the issue. They were nice and helpful but after only three fishing trips with my new 797 GPS I knew I couldn't rely on the HB to get me there. I'll keep the Garmin mounted next to it.
Thanks to all for the effort with HB to fix what we paid our money for and hopefully they will do the right thing.

Oh, believe you me I have a Garmin and that dog will hunt! I waiting on Miss Congeniality(HB) to get herself together. LOL!
