The controls work opposite of what you would think. When you press the keys, it lifts the arms up off the molded piece to activate functions.

What you are describing with only wires would be a receiver/transmitter arrangement. Sounds like an epoxy molded circuit. Makes it impossible (almost) to duplicate. However, epoxied circuit still has to read the foot switches. So there has to be more wires going into this molded circuit. Now, you can take this foot pedal and repackage it I am sure of this without even looking at it. They had to put it together didn't they?

You can always parallel momentary open switches and master/slave speed controls.

I would have to look at one. Nothing is impossible. Practical, well, that is the question yet to be determined.
