    Default 997 jon boat mount

Does anyone have one of these on a jon boat, if so where would be a good place to mount it? Any ideas or even photos would be appreciated. Have had the 997 about four months now and haven't even tried to put it on the boat yet been working on our new house. Still a lot of work to do though. Will the gps puck get damaged if it gets wet? My boat sits outside for now.

I mounted mine centered at the bow of the boat and like it pretty well there. It would be nice to have it closer when i am motoring, but the screen is large enough that I can see fairly well from the back. I was just not practical for me to put 2 finders on a 16 ft boat. I did put a transducer toggle in so i have a regular sonar on the trolling motor and the SI/sonar on the transom.

GPS Puck will be fine getting wet. I have had the whole system get rained on and everything is fine.
