Do you have an update Jabbo??
I have a hand control that Bill, owner of Fisherman's Friend, made for me years ago before MK came out with their hand control..I don't know if it has the same cable connection or not...It does have a 0-10 variable speed knob, an on-off mom switch and left-right switch..If anyone is interested I can get my secretary, Doris, to look it up in my inventory file and make a picture..
Bill made several of these units for folks in VA & NC..I think the cord is around 16-18'....

Yep DonG, I'm still interested - of course I am a tightwad, if I find one
that'll work I'll have to put it on wish list and go shake money tree :D
I'm surprised nobody's said anything about co-pilot.
Maybe everybody's got one and had same results as me?
Works ok except for speed control when tightlining,
trying to hover. To big a jump between speeds.
I've been steering with it, but keeping foot pedal laying up
on side of boat where I can reach speed wheel.
Works, but kinda clumsy.

by the pictures if this is what you are talking about....I had a PD, then a PDAP, then another AP, then another AP using this controller which was a big improvement...Then I went to the newer AP with remote...Had 3 of these...Did not like the remote for the same reason as stated in this thread..Went to a 3X hand control...Way too Big....So, back to a foot control...After havng all these TMs I have made the decision that I need a foot control with a handle attached to the foot control pedal and a quick release. It also needs to have a friction knob on the pedal & all the buttons on the handle...I think Tom can design one for me when I visit him in Nov...:D

Waiting on my two switches to get here so I can start assembling the remote, I've got everything else. As i stated earlier I think I am going to have to use a bigger box (5"x2.5"x2" as oppose to 4"x2"x1")so that I can get the switches I choose to go in the top as oppose to the side. But I am going to try to put them in the same size box even if I have to bend the leads on the switches alittle. We'll see. Also my remote will be exactly like the foot control:left and right, continous or momentary, 1k pot for the speed, and a push button for when I have it in mom. I just bought some new seats for my boat that have arm rest so I am going to make a bracket that will bolt to the bottom of the right one and probably velcro the remote to it. Can't wait to try it out. I will keep you posted and try to have some pics when I'm thru. Hey DonG thanks for the pics.
Yep, thanks for the pics Mr. DonG
I'm gonna see what all ya'll come up with, and go from there.
May buy something or try a build myself.

Jeff, the Terrova prob same control ckt as the V2. If I can help, let me know. We can take your apart and find out (if you trust me). I would bet they are the same control circuit in the v2 and terrova. Just maybe different cord.
Ain't no $125 worth of stuff there for sure. I can do some southern engineering.![]()
