    Default Terrova hand control

I was wondering if anyone made an aftermarket hand held control box that replaces the foot control? I met a guy at a tournament that said someone made one. Any help will be appreciated.

I have a friend who bought a homemade "wired" remote for his power drive. I am studing his and going to try to make me one. Will keep you up to date on the progress.

I'd like one of those too. Been looking at getting an extra foot pedal
and robbing some of the guts out of it, but ain't got around to it yet.

We have someone in Cochran that has made a lot of them for the old MK. I talked to him about it and he told me that you can't buy the cable without the circuit board attached. He said there is no problem making me one but that I would have to bring in the foot pedal and he would cut it off and wire to a hand box...Hate to not have a back up and foot pedals are pretty expensive..Can't say for sure but that's what I've been told anyway...I've even went so far as trying to find me a barely used or reconditioned motor so I can keep my current box.

Hey AUTiger, if you don't mind, could you ask him how much it'd cost?
If we sent him our Terrova pedal - if that's how he wants to do it.

Got a few more questions, minor stuff - I'd like to see a picture of one of
his hand-held deals. I've heard of them, think a guy in the club I used to
fish with has one, but I never got to look at it up close... Thanks! Jeff

See if you can get a picture of what they do. I may be willing to buy a pedal for conversion.

I was unable (so far) to get in touch with the man that makes them, but I talked with a friend of mine that has one. He says he paid $100 for his 2 years ago. I can try and take some pictures of it for you. Its not very big ( a little bigger than a pack of cigarettes) and he has it mounted on his armrest and loves it. I am still debating on whether or not I want/need one....Sure is tempting.

You guys are getting as bad as I am about "change". I am gonna take mine apart and put a bigfoot switch connection in it so I can put power to it with one foot via the bigfoot switch and steer it with the other foot. I am gonna disable the center on switch. Problem is, wal mart out of switches. Crap.

Ain't nothin' but a bunch of switches and a potentiometer in that foot pedal. I ain't took one apart, but I betcha.

Ain't nothin' to this stuff fellers.

Do Minn Kota sell the power/control cable separate?

If the speed pot is a slider type. you can measure the resistance of it on the pc board and replace it with a power trim pot. Rest is easy.
