    Default Transfering Humminbird Waypoints (HELP)

I have a HB 787 and a HB 797 and I can't figure out how to transfer the waypoints from the units to my PC or my Garmin 76CSX. I just purchased Navionics Hot Maps Explorer. I already have Garmins Map Source, Free edition of Easy GPS, Delorme Topo USA. and Free Google Earth. I hope I don't have to purchase another gadget to load these. I do not have a problem loading waypoints to the units but I would like to see where I've been when I return home after fishing all day. It is a pain in the ash seating in the boat in 100 degree temperature trying to plot your next trip out. I have Navionics maps on the units and the Navionics Explorer on the PC and I am real happy so far. So if anyone out there could help explain how to load these waypoints it would be deeply appreciated.

Your HB's have SD cards they should transfer to card from unit. Take sd to pc and upload them.

I would use Garmin Mapsource. It is easy. You get data direct from gps via cable to pc.

If you don't know how to do this, let me know. I will help.

Humminbird is a pain in the tailpipe wit it's Humminbird PC program.

Cane Pole any help that you could give would be appreciated.
Can I transfer the waypoints from the SD card to Map Source or do I have to have the actual unit removed from the boat?

0n Humingbird unit got to NAV tab ,scrowl down to export all nav data tab over . YES (transfers data to sd card)

Remove SD card and plug it into your PC. Open Humminbird PC program.

    Click manage waypoints, tracks, etc

    Click transfer (from sd)

    Click "file" (top task bar)

    Click "save as" or "export"

type in a file name (in title window)

    "save in" my documents

This saves as gpx file and is saved in My Documents by the file name you give it..

    Do this first.

Don't want to confuse you with too many instruction.

We will then go from the saved GPX. It not too hard.

    Write the above directions down.

If I make a mistake with this, someone here will correct me.

Save you stuff on the Garmin then delete all data on it.

    We want a clean unit.

After clearing Garmin, hook up garmin to PC.

Open Easy GPS program and put that saved GPX file on the garmin.

This gets the HB data to the Garmin.

Open mapsource, then get the data from the Garmin. Now you can see where U been in the Garmin Mapsource Maps.

I am not familiar with Lowrance stuff or Navinics Map stuff.

Thanks Cane Pole. I think everything is going to work out OK. I now have a problem with duplicate way points. All of the way points I loaded onto the sd card from my HB are in triplicate. I have to figure out how to delete way points with the same coordinates. They all have different numbers (similar) but are in triple.
