Oh My God!? Dude, you are the man. Enjoy that big boy. Post up some pics when you get in mounted. That thing is huge.

I agree. Can't go back to just down looking sonar.

    Congrats.

I don't/didn't leave my $100 Depth Finders mounted, when trailering the boat. I've hit chugholes that bounced the rear seat out of the mount hole And I was informed, over 30yrs ago, that it wasn't a good idea to leave the DF mounted when trailering. And that was when the mounts were mostly the swivel plates, that are very close to the console (or wherever on the boat that you mount them). I can only imagine the vibration and torque that a Ram mount would have to endure, with a larger/heavier unit attached. (not to mention the pressure put on the console, at the mounting holes).
If it's at all possible, and even if it takes awhile to re-mount it (once you get to ramp, or on the lake) ... I would leave it in the vehicle, or packed in some padded place in the boat, during the trailering (to/from lake). It's gonna get enough "shock treatment", while running the boat on rough water ... no sense in adding insult to injury, by putting more stress on it during the trip there.
It may be capable of withstanding the stress ... but, why take the chance

    ... cp
